Gene Simmons was born on August 25th 1949 in the city of Haifa in Israel as the son of Florence and Chaim Witz. Gene's parents divorced in 1954 and in 1958 Gene and his mother emigrated to the USA, where they settled down in Williamsburg, in Brooklyn, New York.
          Gene's birth name was Chaim Witz jr.. Around 1960 his mother Americanised their family name from Witz to Klein and his first name was changed to Gene. His name thus became Gene Klein. In 1972, Gene finally changed his name to Gene Simmons. From an early point in his life he has been interested in comics magazines featuring horror stories, horror-movies, playing guitar and singing. He thus joined a few different bands like: Long Island Sounds, Rising Sun, The Missing Links, Cathedral, The Love Bag, Bullfrog Beer, Rainbow, Wicked Lester and finally from 1972, KISS which he formed together with Paul Stanley.
The Demon:
          In KISS Gene Simmons plays the bass guitar and sings lead and background vocals. His makeup character is "The Demon". Many see "The Demon" as the central character of the band. In the make-up periods 1973-1983 and 1996-present his part of the stage show has been breathing fire, spitting blood and flying in wires high above the stage (when singing "God of thunder"). He has often been equipped with an axe-shaped guitar and his fancy boots have usually been equipped with fancy eyes and teeth. Gene is also very known for showing his long tongue. Rumours say that he has been trough some kind of operation in order to be able to do that trick.
          Gene has written a lot of the KISS material. Life outside KISS:
          Gene is widely known for his many women. Among many others he has dated Cher, Diana Ross and Liv Ullmann. Today Gene is still not married, but he lives together with the actress Shannon Tweed with whom he has two children: the son Nicholas and the daughter Sophia. Today Gene Simmons lives in Beverly Hills, California.
         Besides the music Gene has also participated in a few movies like: KISS meets the Phantom of the park, Runaway, Wanted Dead or Alive, Trick or Treat, Never to Young to Die, The Decline of Western Civilization, part 2, Red Surf, Miami Vice (one episode), The Hitchhiker (one episode) and finally Detroit Rock City.
          For shorter periods of time Gene has also tried to work as: A teacher (for six months), a bodyguard and as a typist at the Vogue magazine.

          Peter Crisscoula, 27 December 1947, Brooklyn, New York, USA. Peter Criss's major claim to fame is that he was the original drummer with Kiss. During his time with the band, they played to sell out crowds worldwide, always presenting themselves in full make-up as part of their over-the-top image and never revealing their true appearances. Criss was known as 'The Cat'. In September 1978 all four members of Kiss recorded solo albums although still in the 'Kiss character' of full make-up. While this project gave the band members the chance to do their own thing, Criss's release was most at odds with the Kiss hard rock sound. It showed that he was quite disillusioned with his colleagues who more often than not refused to consider his compositions as suitable material. The recording was a mix of rock, jazz, rock 'n' roll and lightweight ballads, signalling his split from Kiss two years later. His first solo release proper, Out Of Control was pure pop muzak while his 1982 release offered more of the same with just a smattering of heavier moments. Criss rejoined Kiss in 1994.

          Paul stanley is the strutter with the starred eye and the ruby red lips that seem locked in a perpetual rock star pout.
His "in your face"ryhthm guitar style and unique vocals are what kiss is all about.
Paul was around 7 years old when he started listening to music he states his early musical influences as being the beatles,the byrds and the yardbirds.

          Ace started playing guitar at the age of 13, he lists his major influences as the ventures, jimi hendrix,cream and the who. Ace was inducted into the hollywood rock walk of fame and he was also listed at# 9 in the guitar world magazines "the 100 most important people in guitar"article.
          Ace quit kiss after making the "i love it loud" video. His face is on the original "creatures of the night" album cover but he did not play on it. After the success of his first solo album,ace thought he would have more fun making music on his own.but as we all now know he rejoined kiss in february 1996.
